No faltan razones para que sea considerado el nutriente m\u00e1s importante para este tipo de actividad agr\u00edcola. Y tambi\u00e9n como uno cuyo uso agron\u00f3mico eficiente y eficaz es el m\u00e1s desafiante.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Esta reputaci\u00f3n se debe a que sus beneficios dependen de una estrategia de fertilizaci\u00f3n que tiene en cuenta 1) que sus efectos se dan tanto en la producci\u00f3n de hojas, como en los macollos e inflorescencias y, en consecuencia, en las semillas, 2) que fisiol\u00f3gicamente el crecimiento vegetativo compite con el desarrollo reproductivo de las plantas y 3) que no solo las cantidades, sino tambi\u00e9n el tipo de fertilizante, la forma y el momento de su aplicaci\u00f3n tienen impactos en la producci\u00f3n de semillas.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Todo esto tiene que ver con la din\u00e1mica del N en el suelo y las formas en que las plantas responden a su absorci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">El nivel de N en el suelo var\u00eda ampliamente (de 0.05% a 0.5%). Del total, solo alrededor del 5% se presenta en formas inorg\u00e1nicas, de las cuales las plantas absorben predominantemente el nitrato (NO3-) y, en menor medida, el amonio (NH4+). El resto est\u00e1 asociado a una gran cantidad de compuestos org\u00e1nicos. Este nivel var\u00eda seg\u00fan la cantidad de estos compuestos, el manejo, las caracter\u00edsticas (qu\u00edmicas y f\u00edsicas), los grados de humedad y aireaci\u00f3n y la temperatura del suelo.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Descargas el\u00e9tricas atmosf\u00e9ricas e fixa\u00e7\u00e3o simbi\u00f3tica contribuem para esse n\u00edvel.\u00a0 Entretanto, a fonte principal de N \u00e9 a decomposi\u00e7\u00e3o e a mineraliza\u00e7\u00e3o microbiol\u00f3gica de res\u00edduos e compostos org\u00e2nicos que ocorrem a taxas determinadas por v\u00e1rios outros fatores al\u00e9m das caracter\u00edsticas f\u00edsicas e qu\u00edmicas do solo j\u00e1 mencionadas. Sobre elas tamb\u00e9m influem as caracter\u00edsticas dos res\u00edduos org\u00e2nicos (quantidade, composi\u00e7\u00e3o qu\u00edmica, teor de \u00e1gua, tamanho de part\u00edculas) e o grau de sua incorpora\u00e7\u00e3o ao solo.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Por lo tanto, dados los muchos factores que pueden influir en los niveles de N en el suelo, las amplias variaciones observadas entre a\u00f1os, ubicaciones y manejo no son sorprendentes.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>En las regiones donde el invierno es fr\u00edo y seco la descomposici\u00f3n se acelera a principios de la primavera cuando aumentan las temperaturas y las precipitaciones pluviales. En este proceso, parte del N mineralizado puede ser inmovilizado por microorganismos para compensar niveles insuficientes de este elemento en los residuos.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>La cantidad inmovilizada depende de la cantidad y composici\u00f3n qu\u00edmica de estos residuos; cuanto mayor sea la relaci\u00f3n carbono\/nitr\u00f3geno (C: N) de su composici\u00f3n, mayor ser\u00e1 la inmovilizaci\u00f3n. A medida que avanza la descomposici\u00f3n, el N que forma parte de los compuestos org\u00e1nicos presentes en el suelo se mineraliza, quedando gradualmente disponible para las plantas, es decir, su inmovilizaci\u00f3n es temporal.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Por lo tanto, en suelos preparados lo suficientemente temprano para permitir la descomposici\u00f3n de los residuos vegetales remanecientes de cultivos anteriores, el N mineralizado de la materia org\u00e1nica puede suplir el requerimiento de N de las pl\u00e1ntulas. Despu\u00e9s de todo, en esta etapa la demanda de plantas j\u00f3venes es peque\u00f1a y el tama\u00f1o reducido de su sistema radicular limita su capacidad de absorber nutrientes si se aplican.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Por este motivo, se puede prescindir del uso de fertilizantes nitrogenados en la siembra, salvo que exista una gran cantidad de residuos org\u00e1nicos no descompuestos en el suelo y en suelos muy arenosos en los que el N mineralizado se pierde f\u00e1cilmente por lixiviaci\u00f3n. En estos casos, la aplicaci\u00f3n de alg\u00fan fertilizante nitrogenado en este momento puede ser necesaria para compensar la insuficiencia de N para las pl\u00e1ntulas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Esta situaci\u00f3n, sin embargo, se altera cuando las plantas j\u00f3venes comienzan a producir macollos alrededor de 40 a 45 d\u00edas despu\u00e9s de la emergencia de las pl\u00e1ntulas. La fertilizaci\u00f3n nitrogenada en este momento es fundamental en cualquier situaci\u00f3n, ya que los procesos de macollamiento y transici\u00f3n de los macollos del estado vegetativo al reproductivo son estimulados por el N. Los efectos se manifiestan no solo en el aumento de la densidad (n\u00ba\/m\u00b2) de macollos, pero si no tambi\u00e9n en el aumento de la fertilidad de estas estructuras.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>En esa ocasi\u00f3n, abonos de N resultan en aumentos en la producci\u00f3n de semillas de gram\u00edneas forrajeras, resultantes principalmente de sus efectos sobre el componente m\u00e1s importante de esta producci\u00f3n, es decir, la densidad de inflorescencias. Otros componentes de la producci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n se ven \u00e0 veces influenciados por este nutriente, pero sus impactos en la productividad de semillas son menores.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, los abonos, si se hacen temprano, estar\u00e1n sujetos a p\u00e9rdidas de N, facilitadas por la baja capacidad de absorci\u00f3n de las plantas j\u00f3venes. Por otro lado, si se hacen m\u00e1s tarde, estimular\u00e1n m\u00e1s el crecimiento vegetativo que el reproductivo. Sin mencionar que las altas dosis de N resultan en el volcamiento de las plantas y, en consecuencia, en una menor producci\u00f3n de semillas.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Las cultivares de gram\u00edneas forrajeras difieren entre si (entre muchas otras caracter\u00edsticas) cuanto a padrones de macollamiento, de floraci\u00f3n y de acumulaci\u00f3n de masa vegetal.
